Eisele Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga, Napa 2019
The world of wine has many iconic vineyards. There is Romanée-Conti and Montrachet in Burgundy, as well as Cannubi and Brunate in Barolo. In Germany is the heralded Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Kiedricher Grafenberg to add to the list. In Côte-Rôtie there is "La Landonne" or "Chaillot" in Cornas, both have made the Rhône Valley stand out. There is also the iconic winery, such as one of the last offerings we did with Château Latour. What happens when you mix two together? Well, you get the wine equivalent of the supergroup Blind Faith, Cream, and Temple of the Dog.
The Eisele Vineyard is one of the few single-vineyards that is known around the world as a symbol of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. First made famous by Ridge, Conn Creek, and Joseph Phelps, then acquired by Bart Araujo and he brought it to the next level. Then he sold it to the centuries-known Château Latour. Under their shepherding the vineyard is organic, biodynamic, and producing wines that can only be compared to the best First Growth Bordeaux. 2019 from Eisele is heralded as one of the best ever made from the property. Perfect conditions in all seasons yielded a wine with balance, power, and finesse wrapped in a pretty bow. "Violets, blueberry coulis, Madagascar Vanilla, and volcanic soil" are a few of the words to describe it. This is one for the ages. We are getting 6 bottles of this wine for pre-sale to arrive at the beginning of September. Act Fast!
