Laventureaux "Fourchaume" Chablis Premier Cru 2017

The Lavantureaux have been producing wines in Burgundy since 1978. Now Roland's two sons are at the helm, with Arnaud being in control in the cellar and taking it to new heights. They are making brilliantly classic Chablis rooted in tradition, with wines being fermented in stainless steel and then aging in wood - but no new, and at least 3 years of age. This Fourchaume 1er cru is a stellar example of what they do, and this vineyard is a well-known "secret". Fourchaume's location, climate, and exposure are that of the Grand Cru's which sit on a hill overlooking the sleepy town of Chablis. This wine has the richness of the Grand Cru Les Clos, and the ferocious minerality of Valmur with a flinty finish. A Chablis-lover's Chablis!
